A DIY Test Bench from an Old PC Case!
I thought this would be much harder to pull off, but it was easy. This DIY project is quite simple for someone to take on, and I really like the upcycling aspect of reusing the old PC case. Using miscellaneous materials around us also helps drive costs down for the project.
Here is the DIY Test Bench:

Lesson in safety:
I learned a valuable lesson when making this test bench in safety. Please, at all times, pay attention to what you are doing. Practice safe DIY procedures such as securing materials down to a workbench using clamps and keeping your fingers away.
I am extremely lucky to have my middle finger still, as if I hit the bone; I’m pretty sure we would be having a much different video. Accidents do happen, but it’s our own job to make sure that we prevent injury as much as possible.
Paying attention could have saved me a hospital visit and a very painful experience. Not to mention its still numb ahahahah. I mean there was a literal hole in my middle finger pad. I’m just glad it ended well :’)
Final Thoughts:
The case came out looking really good and I’m glad that I made this test bench. There is more to this story on why I needed this test bench as my main PC is no longer working… Thats for another video xD.
Using PlastiDip or any paint should help from shorting the case on the motherboard. The felt tips stop the motherboard from sagging where there are no stand-offs. Despite this being a mid-tower case for a max motherboard size of mATX, we can now use an ATX motherboard (with overhang) as well as a very long graphics card.
I’m glad I put the bottom piece of the test bench for the hard drives and other storage as it won’t need to be hanging around everywhere. Its pretty much its own enclosed but open test bench.
I think its awesome that I could upcycle some stuff I had lying around as well as this junk PC case. It is terrible quality but now at least I can use it. Using the stabilizers with the bamboo was quite fun as well, proving to work quite well at the moment with all of the weight pushing down on the case.
